No-one needs to know you have had cosmetic dentistry. The metal smile is history. We now have tooth coloured filling materials that look like teeth. In just one visit the old mercury amalgams can be replaced. If you are worried about release of Mercury we can do this under a protective rubber barrier to stop you breathing this vapor.

Crowns, commonly known as 'caps' completely cover a weak tooth above the gum and protect it. Crowns are made of metal, porcelain or a combination of the two.

A bridge is made where a tooth is missing and consists of crowns on either side of the space, joined together by a false tooth within the space. Bridges are made in the laboratory and then glued in place in the mouth.

Veneers

Porcelain veneers are thin shells of porcelain that fit over the front surface of your natural teeth. We can use these to change the shape, colour and position of a tooth in just two visits. They are custom made from moulds taken of your teeth and chemically bonded onto your teeth and should last 10-15 years. They will not change colour over time.

What we usually do is to take models of your teeth and add wax to them to simulate the final result. This will show you what the final result could look like and exactly how many veneers you will need. We also take photographs of your teeth and smile and can simulate on the computer what your final smile could look like. You will then visit our on-site dental laboratory and meet the actual technician who will help us create your new smile.

If you are unhappy with the size, shape or colour of your teeth, veneers may be the solution for you. When ten veneers are placed, they can compliment your other facial features leading to what is known as a 'smile lift'. We can pre-book this with our laboratory, enabling the whole process to proceed over two appointments 24 hours apart. Your new smile could be only a day away!
